We have provided MOL with various data warehouse applications that enable the company
to view, organize and report on consolidated information needed for forecasting
and analyzing business performance and efficiency.
Data Warehouse - Currently we are working on various data warehousing
projects that will allow further efficiencies in information management and flow
to the business users.

The Net Proceeds System (NPS) provides flexible and easy-to-use reporting and analysis
functionality to worldwide MOL users in such areas as Trade Management, Marketing/Yield,
Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Logistics/Operations. NPS gives these managerial and
non-managerial users fast and convenient access to the most current information
about commercial performance and profitability — globally across all MOL trade lanes.
Historical data in NPS is extracted from Star-Net and imported into a data repository,
known as the data warehouse. After its successful transformation, the resulting
fact data is transferred and populated into the production version of NPS. NPS includes
historical Bill of Lading detail for all cargo movements, along with their associated
net proceeds. NPS retrieves all dock-locked B/Ls and containers sailing on a given
vessel, voyage, and line at a given location; calculates projected costs; and captures
revenue associated with moving a container.
Cost data originates in the Per Unit Cost Master (the
PUCM sub-application in Star-Net's Accounts Payable). The net proceeds calculation
is automatically triggered by dock-lock at each final loading port for each respective
Bill of Lading. Profitability per container is measured in dollar amounts called
Net Proceeds. Net Proceeds is defined as Total Revenue (before Freight) less Total
Costs.
You can access this data, and output it as reports that NPS runs against the analyzed
data. You can schedule reports for daily, weekly, or monthly delivery — or run them
on an ad-hoc basis for immediate delivery. These reports are an essential tool in
strategic decision-making, planning, forecasting, and account management.

GEMS

Global Equipment Management group is based in Tokyo. This group is responsible for
monitoring MOL’s equipment inventory, trade trends, and turnaround. The group analyzes
this information to plan repositioning, acquiring, or retiring existing equipment
inventory. The GEMS (Global Equipment Management System) is a data warehouse, which
stores historical equipment movement data and produces required analytical reports.
Global equipment management system enables MOL to realize “Proactive Operation”.
Standardization of Indicators/Reports based on the unified data base =“GEMs” to
replace various types of local reports based on various data sources. Maintain same
function as per UCS (Host) has provided, which covers:
- CONMO Weekly Report.
- CONMO Monthly Report.
GEMS provides flexible and easy-to-use reporting and analysis functionality to worldwide
MOL users in such areas as Equipment Management, Turnaround, Matchback, Inventory
management Evaluation, Long Stay, Lease in/Lease out, Disposal Information etc;.
GEMS gives to managerial and non-managerial users fast and convenient access to
the most current information about equipment management globally across all CONMO
defined areas(ASIA,N.AMERICA,EAF CONTI, EAF IOI,S.AMERICA ETC).
Historical data in GEMS is extracted from Star-Net and imported into a data repository,
known as the data warehouse. After its successful transformation, the resulting
fact data is transferred and populated into the production version of GEMS. Reports
are generated based on the equipment, area and status of the equipment(Loading,
landing, disposed, leased out etc).
