Marine Drive – Driving the “More Marine” Vision

Marine Drive was established in 2024 as a key enabler of MOL-IT’s “More Marine” strategy, drawing on MOL’s Blue Action 2035 and DX Vision. The team strengthens MOL-IT’s support for marine operations through digital transformation.

Our Mission

Marine Drive drives innovation at MOL-IT by working with internal teams, technology partners, and maritime experts to deliver ICT solutions that improve shipboard operations and MOL’s marine capabilities. Key DX vision areas include shore-to-vessel communication, reducing routine onboard tasks, and enhancing crew quality of life (QOL), supporting MOL’s pillars: Safety, Decarbonization, Marine Environment Protection, and Human & Community Development.

Key Focus Areas

  • Strengthening Marine Knowledge within MOL-IT through training, guidance, and expert consultancy.
  • Creating awareness of shipboard realities and mariner experiences to bridge the gap between shore and vessel.
  • Exploring DX and ICT opportunities in MOL’s marine business activities.
  • Enhancing MOL-IT’s competence to support marine operations, unlocking new possibilities across onshore and offshore domains.
  • Expanding business support for ship management activities, ensuring operational excellence and sustainability.

Current Initiatives

Marine Drive is currently collaborating with the Maritime Digital Co-creation Unit to develop a standardized ICT platform aimed at improving shipboard processes and enhancing the quality of life onboard. This platform is expected to launch in March 2026.

Expert Guidance

Marine Drive benefits from the expertise of two senior marine professionals who provide consultancy across ship management, vessel performance, and marine knowledge development. Their contributions support initiatives such as PAL, FOCUS, AI & BI for HSEQ, PMS, seafarer training videos, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring alignment with MOL’s guidelines and instructions.
  • Conducting training sessions for MOL-IT technical personnel.
  • Providing ICT development, operations, and maintenance support for marine-related projects.
